The Visit of His Excellency R.S. Gavai at the St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Eruvellipra, Tirumoolapuram on 4th March 2011
The closing ceremony of the Platinum Jubliee of the St. Thomas Higher Secondary School will be inaugurated by His Excellency, R.S. GAVAI, the Governor of Kerala. St. Thomas School is a unique school in the Educational scenario of the Pathanamthitta District. It has very efficient teachers; the PTA also is very active. The function will begin at 11.30 am on 4th March at the Mar Diascoros Memorial Hall. The Major Archbishop Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos will preside over the function. During this jubilee year there were many programmes and all were intended to improve the various needs of the school and children.

Special Synod of Bishops of the Malankara Catholic Church
To discuss and arrive at probable conclusions and directions a short Synod is also being convened at Tiruvalla immediately after the Priests Meet. It will be held at the Archbishop's house.Let us pray for our bishops and help them to be holy ministers of the Lord.

Malankara Priests Meet Tiruvalla March 1 & 2
The Priests of the Malankara Catholic Church including the religious priests are gathering for the first time in Tiruvalla to spend a couple of days in prayer and reflection and fellowship. His Beatitude, the Catholicos and all the bishops are attending the sessions. The venue is St. John's Cathedral and priests will stay in the various institutions and houses in Tiruvalla. There would be two input sessions:one by Bishop Raphael Thattil, auxiliary of Trichur and the other by DGP Alexander Jacob IPS. The meeting will discuss various issues related to the priests and the Malankara Catholic faithful with a special reference to the forthcoming MALANKARA ASSEMBLY to be conducted along with the dedication of the Catholicos Centre Trivandrum and the Reunion Day Celebrations 2011. The session will end by 2nd afernoon. May the Almighty bless and protect our clergy.

Priestly Ordination of 6 deacons on Monday 21 February at St. John's Cathedral, Tiruvalla
Deacons Puthenparampil Eapen from Vennikulam, Mozhisseril Eldho from Pandamkary, Meledath Chacko from Thekkunkal, Nalunadiyil Thomas from Udayagiri, Narimattam Joseph from Pazhayarikandam and Vadakkekutt Mathew from Niranam will Deo volente be ordained priests at the Cathedral on 21st Febr. 2011. The Archdiocese congratulate the new priests and thank the parents for their great sacrifice.

New Rector for Tiruvalla Minor Seminary
Rev. Dr. Thomas Parakkal is appointed the new Rector of the Infant Mary's Minor Seminary, Tiruvalla with effect from 1st February 2011. He takes the place of Rev. Fr. Mathai Mannoorvadakethil who is going abraod for Ministry. Rev. Dr. Parakkal has doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome. He hails from St. Antony's parish Kalampala. He assumed his office at the end of the Solemn Liturgical celebration presided over by His Grace Thomas Mar Koorilos, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Tiruvalla.

Rev. Fr. Zacharias Iyrattipadavil entered into Eternal Bliss
At the age of 101 Rev. Fr. Zacharias peacefully entered into his Master's eternal company. He was ill for the last few months. He was awaiting his Lord's Coming. He served the Church faithfully and efficiently. The funeral will be on 13th Jan. at St. Joseph's Church, Kudakkachira. The services will begin at about 9.30 a.m. at his home in Kudakkachira. May the good Lord grant him eternal joy and may his soul rest in peace.

Solemn Blessing of the St. Mary's Church, Ist Mile, Kumily
The newly built church at Kumily is going to be dedicated tomorrow by His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Malankara Catholic Church. It is a beautiful church and the leadership was given by Rev. Fr. Alex Kannamala. All are welcome to share in the joy of its dedication.

Mar Theophilos Sneha Bhavan, Puthenangadi, Kottayam
A house for the destitutes is being inaugurated in Puthenangadi, Kottayam where elderly women are taken care of. It is named after the first bishop of Tiruvalla, Jacob Mar Theophilos. The house is run by the Holy Spirit Sisters of Tiruvalla. The prayers and support of the readers are humbly solicited. May the Good Lord bless each of you for your kindness towards the least in the society.

Archbishop Mar Koorilos elected as new Secretary General of KCBC
His Grace Archbishop Thomas Mar Koorilos has been elected the Secretary General of the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Conference (KCBC) for a term of three years. The archdiocese wishes His Grace all the best and success in leading the church in Kerala along with the new President Arcbishop Mar Andrews Thazhath and Archbisop Francis Kallarakal.
